Branding, Merch Design
Sequoia High School already had a brand: a purple raven, a bold S, and lots of Redwood City history and legacy. But when my brother (the head girls' basketball coach) sent me an AI-generated shirt design full of misspellings and clashing purples, I had to step in. His team needed more than a logo. They needed a visual identity that actually matched who they are... Rooted, powerful, and built to grow together. I reimagined the team's graphics using elements tied to the school, like the raven and sequoia tree, but layered in meaning that spoke directly to their program. Clean, high-impact type. Illustrations that would be instantly recognizable in public. I used Ideogram to brainstorm, refined everything in Canva, and locked in a consistent hex code (no more 50 shades of violet, thanks). Because the problem isn't tools like AI or Canva—it's skipping the human creativity that makes design actually resonate. Now varsity and JV have gear they're proud to wear. And yes, it's cute. I'm a girl's girl.
